Mission

Caring, serving and educating to improve the lives of companion animals.

Background Statement

Since 1972, Longmont Humane Society (LHS) has been the premiere animal sheltering and welfare organization in northern Boulder County. In the 1980s, LHS partnered with private donors, the City of Longmont, and Boulder County to construct a new building with improved kennel space to help reduce health issues and respond to community needs. By the 2000s, LHS had outgrown our physical space and was unable properly meet the increasing needs of the community without expanding. In 2008, LHS completed a 43,000 square foot expansion to house administrative offices, a veterinary clinic, our foster, volunteer and training and behavior programs, lost and found and adoption facilities. In 2016, LHS expanded its Well Pet Clinic to respond the the public's need for low-cost veterinary services.
