Mission

A community of educators, students, and parents committed to excellence and academics, service, and Biblical truth.

Background Statement

A group of Longmont parents and a pastor founded LCS in 1993, wanting to provide a holistic education for their children that combined rigorous academics with spiritual nourishment. The first building to house the school was a converted church in downtown Longmont where classes were held for 20 years. LCS outgrew that building and relocated to a "new" school (the building had previously been a public elementary school campus) in August, 2012, with eight acres for play, sports, and future growth.

Since its inception, the goal of LCS has been to be take a spiritual-centered approach to both cognitive and social-emotional development in children. This approach results in graduates with strong ethics, respect for self and others, a firm grounding in classical education to draw from when facing real-world challenges, creative problem-solving skills, and a commitment to compassionate living.
