Littleton High School Encore

A nonprofit organization

“Music and the arts make a bridge across this world in ways that nothing else can.” -- Julie Andrews

For more than 25 years, our organization of student families and teachers has nurtured and supported the performing arts at LHS. We are proud of this program, which attracts students from across the south metro area who want a high-quality performing arts experience. Encore serves a student population that includes around 140 instrumental students, 120 choral students, and over 100 after school theater students throughout LHS.  Students can choose to participate as actors and tech crew even when they aren't actively enrolled in a theater class.  Performers gain valuable experience on stage while the crew is behind the scenes learning how to stage, light and mix sound for shows, concerts, and activities held in the school's theater. The Spring Musical is one of the largest productions at Littleton High School and often has around 130 cast, crew, and pit orchestra members, accentuating the team effort across departments.  Many of these students participate in multiple programs and continue to pursue community performance opportunities long after high school or go on to major in the performing arts or music in college.

Why we need your financial support

Encore has been increasingly called upon to help fill the funding gaps needed to support the LHS Performing Arts Department in recent years. School budgets are being stretched thin to cover basic functions and leave very little to address aging equipment repairs or replacements while factoring in rising costs.  We also bridge financial need costs, sponsor workshops, help cover food costs for activities, and coordinate ways for people to donate their time in support of the amazing students and teachers at LHS so they can share their talents and passion with the community.

We do our best to support what we can on a small nonprofit budget and always appreciate the generosity of those who choose to contribute to our mission. Visit the Encore website for more information and to see what we've recently funded, thanks to the support of our donors.

 Equipment Examples Funded by Encore

  • 2025 - Light Board
$5,900 provided by Encore to help purchase a new Light Board for the theater (total cost $11,700) after the existing one failed at the end of the 2024-25 school year and could not be repaired. This equipment benefits the entire school by running multiple lighting effects and controlling overall lighting needs for all events in the LHS theater. Upgraded equipment allows our students to experience up-to-date technology for lighting design and advance skills for future work with the technical side of theater.
  • 2025 - Panel Saw
$4,000 provided by Encore to purchase a panel saw for use in the theater department (total cost $6,500) to improve the safety of students using equipment to build sets and enhance the tools available for those needs.
  • 2025 - Sound Board
$4,200 provided by Encore to replace the theater's aging sound board (total cost $6,200), which benefits the entire school for all events in the theater as well as the performing arts performances. This also allows our performing arts students to train on updated equipment to enhance their knowledge and opportunities for future sound work in and out of school.
  • 2025 - Microphone Maintenance (recurring support)
$1,600 to replace worn-out microphone equipment, such as mic packs, cords, batteries, etc. A single mic pack can cost $400 and LHS currently has 30 to use for stage shows to make sure all voices are heard during performances. Wireless mic packs run on batteries and are a standard piece of equipment for most productions at all levels of theater across the industry.
  • 2024 - Lighting Projector & Lens
$5,500 provided by Encore to purchase a projector and specialty lens for the theater (total cost $13,500) to enhance set design and staging opportunities that improve the quality of performances.

$1,400 piano dolly and cover purchased by Encore to move and protect the piano for concerts, etc.
