Lighthouse Participant: The lighthouse and their staff open a door to men who have very little options coming from difficult transitions in life, as well as providing a foundation where they can be supported, guided, and be held accountable to becoming a self-sufficient and stable member of society again. The home program is simple, organized, and there is never a shortage of amazing people to speak with about concerns, questions, and guidance in all areas. The lighthouse for me, was definitely nothing short of a miracle to battle homelessness and addiction. To provide a safe and positive environment for recovering addicts and to provide resources to help them live sober for life.
Background Statement
We provide a safe and positive environment for men who are recovering from drug and alcohol addictions, and to provide resources to help them to learn to live sober for life. Lighthouse Sober Living Program is a 4-phase program. Participants start out with structure and accountability which decreases with phase advancement. The overall purpose is for Participants to develop a sober daily routine, sober lifestyle, and sober support system that can be maintained even after he moves on from the Lighthouse. Participants here are living in a sober environment and are surrounded by others who share a common experience who support one another in their sobriety. One of our goals is to work in partnership with the community service agencies and educational institutions to help people in recovery on their path to learning healthy behaviors. In addition we strive to help them transition into living constructive lives after overcoming destructive behaviors to live sober for life.
