LiftUp is a trusted and responsive community leader providing essential support so that people can thrive in Routt County. Your financial donation helps us provide assistance to neighbors in need through our food banks and food programs such as Rocket Pack snacks for kids; emergency financial assistance programs for medical costs, housing emergencies, and unexpected utility bills; and educational scholarships. Demand for LiftUp of Routt County's services has skyrocketed: it's up 67% in the last 10 years. This increase is the result of a variety of factors, but a leading cause is the high cost of living in our expensive communities. Even people working 2 and 3 jobs may not be able to make ends meet. Emergencies such as an unexpected and scary medical diagnosis, an unforeseen high utility bill, or a sudden rent increase bring people to LiftUp so they can stay in their homes and receive essentials like food for their families.
LiftUp of Routt County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in May 1996 by the Steamboat Springs Ministerial Association and several local church communities to provide charitable assistance for people in need.
LiftUp is comprised of three departments: Our Food Banks/Community Support Center, our Thrift Store, and our Donation Center. We also have Community Gardens in which we grow food for our Food Banks.
Generous community members bring gently used, high quality goods to our Donation Center and we in turn sell them in our Thrift Store to help fund our numerous community support programs and operations. Our Thrift Store attracts people from all walks of life who find quality, affordable clothing, household goods, and treasures. We provide vouchers for those who need these goods most desperately.
