Rocket Community Challenge!

Help us fill the backpacks of 80,000 students with learning differences.

This fall, some lucky students will go back to school with Learning Ally audiobooks loaded onto their iPads and Chromebooks. Although these students are blind, visually impaired, or have dyslexia, they are confident in their learning ability because Rocket employees, like you, brought them Learning Ally memberships!

Today, Iwe are asking for your help. We need support from generous volunteers like you to help us reach our 2025 “Fill the Backpack” campaign goal of reaching 80,000 students.

Please help us reach them all, before school starts!

Learning Ally is looking for:

  • 400 donors to give $25 to help sponsor school memberships
  • 400 donors to give $50 to help sponsor school district memberships
  • 375 donors to give $135 to help sponsor family memberships

Your gift will make a tremendous difference for students like Carly. She endured major brain tumor surgeries, and (unrelated) struggles to read printed material.

Desperate, Carly made her own accommodation. “I’d read my assignments into my phone to get the words read back to me.” impossibly time-consuming. Then, Carly found Learning Ally, which had all her books recorded in a human voice. She could listen to her textbooks, easily learn, and keep up with her peers.

Mission

We believe all students should have equal opportunities to learn and succeed.

Literacy is the foundation of learning. Yet 65% of fourth graders in the U.S. read below proficiency levels and are 400% more likely to drop out of high school. For the most vulnerable students – Black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), low income, multilingual learners and students with learning disabilities – the crisis is even more acute, and has persisted for decades.

At Learning Ally, we believe that listening is vital to learning. From the youngest age, children learn by listening and then by engaging in meaningful conversations. By equipping early and struggling learners with our ebooks to access their curriculum, literature, and popular titles, we help open up learning for millions of students. This is our passion.

Background Statement

75 years of helping struggling learners

We help school systems and education leaders address the equity gap through evidence-based, interactive professional development, communities of practice and programs that span early assessment, intervention, accommodation, and research-based instruction. Our professional learning programs help educators identify and prevent learning issues, allowing struggling readers to become independent and engaged learners who can achieve socially, emotionally and academically–regardless of background or learning difference.
