Since its inception in 1985, Leadership Jeffco has been pivotal in cultivating community leadership across Jefferson County. Joining forces with the JeffCo Economic Development Corporation in 2022, this legacy program now has greater access to the surrounding community more than ever before. Leadership Jeffco strives for our students to understand their strengths to position them for the future while offering personal tours of leading industries, higher education, and governmental locations. Celebrating over 40 years of heritage, we offer programs such as Youth Leadership Jeffco and the Peer Community Leadership Exchange (PCLE), nurturing future generations and fostering collaboration among current leaders.
Our Mission is to inspire and cultivate diverse and emerging leaders who are committed to making a significant impact in Jefferson County.
Youth Leadership Jeffco
Youth Leadership Jeffco is a no-cost, competitive leadership and career exploration program for high school juniors from 16 schools across Jeffco Public Schools. Students engage in monthly industry visits, hands-on activities, and direct interaction with professionals to build leadership skills, explore career paths, and broaden their understanding of community and self. This year, students can earn college credit through Red Rocks Community College upon successful completion—offering a unique blend of high school, college, and real-world learning.
Leadership Jeffco 41st Class
A dynamic cohort of leaders who see this program as a critical opportunity for both professional development and deeper civic engagement. Their primary goals are to expand their professional networks and gain a holistic, cross-sector understanding of the county’s challenges by learning directly from their peers. They universally commit to contributing by being actively present, sharing their unique perspectives, and engaging with genuine curiosity in a collaborative environment. Ultimately, their collective aim is to translate these new connections and insights into more effective, informed, and impactful leadership that will shape the future of their organizations and the broader Jefferson County community.
