Youth Leadership Jeffco Youth Leadership Jeffco, empowers high school juniors in Jefferson County to explore leadership and career pathways through a partnership with the local school district and Economic Development Corporation. Now in its third year, this no-cost program offers students from Lakewood, Green Mountain and Arvada West High Schools the chance to identify personal strengths, explore various career options, and understand different educational paths.
Leadership Jeffco has its most significant class ever, with 50 students this current year. This selected group will spend ten months getting to know themselves better, collaborating and networking with classmates, acquainting themselves with local Jeffco Leaders, and evaluating opportunities on where and how to engage in Jefferson County.
This storied leadership development program has existed since 1985. Leadership Jeffco's commitment is to inspire & cultivate diverse and emerging leaders who want to be more engaged and make a bigger impact on this community. We foster and align the cross sections of our community (Private, Public, and Nonprofit) by giving special access to Organizations and Leaders in Jefferson County. Jeffco Leadership is a 501c3 under the West Metro Chamber Foundation that houses four (4) leadership programs along with 1,000+ alumni.
This prized local treasure joined the Jeffco Economic Development Corporation umbrella in 2022. Joining forces with the EDC, the program(s) has greater access to our community than ever before. Leadership Jeffco strives for our students to understand their strengths to position them for the future while offering personal tours of leading industries, higher education, and governmental locations.

In 1985, the West Chamber Serving Jefferson County Board of Directors established a Foundation to provide a means for attracting and administering funding for programs that benefit the organization's members. Over the years, the Foundation's focus has evolved from work force development initiatives to its current focus on leadership development and business education programs. Impacts from funded programs are diverse, ranging from increasing the number of qualified workers available for employment in Jefferson County to cultivating current and future leaders.
