We're building a movement for community health. LCBAG focuses on the social determinants of health, which means we address the environmental and social conditions that affect a wide-range of health and quality-of-life outcomes as we work towards a more equitable and just society. Through coalition work, capacity building, and advocacy, we support the community's collective vision for a better future by focusing on the root causes of health inequities.
We focus on affordable housing, food access, childcare, tenant rights, and youth development.

Building a movement for community health and wellbeing.
We approach our mission through community organizing, coalition facilitation, and capacity building to improve the wellbeing of all Lake County residents. LCBAG’s role in this work includes research, planning, and evaluation to better understand the most effective way to address health inequities. We elevate the leadership of residents who are impacted by systemic oppression to develop programs, infrastructure, and system changes that support the community's collective vision for the future.
Lake County Build a Generation has over 20 years of experience facilitating community-led projects to address health inequities as part of Lake County Public Health Agency. In that time, we developed strong practices for community organizing, coalition building, research, planning, and evaluation. In 2020, LCBAG broke away from Lake County Government to become an independent nonprofit. The first two years of this new status were spent responding directly to pandemic-related needs, supporting partner organizations, and assisting community members.
