Korean Academy of Colorado

A nonprofit organization

The Korean Academy of Colorado (KAOC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to teaching the Korean language and sharing its rich culture. For over 20 years, we have welcomed children and adults of all backgrounds, including recent immigrants and adoptees, to learn about Korea's language, history, and traditions.

With about 180 students, our school offers language classes and cultural activities like art, acting, origami, sports, and modern music. Students also participate in festivals and contests through the statewide Korean schools association. We operate two 15-week semesters each year, in spring and fall.

As a non-profit, we rely on donations to sustain our programs and provide these enriching experiences. Your support is vital to our mission. Please consider donating today to help us continue sharing the beauty of Korean culture with our community.

Mission

KAOC is to promote the Korean language and culture while fostering an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming community. We aim to provide high-quality educational opportunities to students of all ages and backgrounds, helping them:

1. Learn the Korean Language: From foundational skills to advanced fluency, we help students gain a strong grasp of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Korean.

2. Celebrate Cultural Heritage: Through classes and activities, we offer hands-on experiences that bring Korea’s rich history, traditions, and modern cultural elements to life.

3. Build Community Connections: We create an environment where people of all backgrounds—Korean and non-Korean alike—can come together to celebrate diversity and strengthen cultural understanding.

4. Inspire Lifelong Learning: By combining language learning with arts, music, and extracurriculars, we encourage curiosity and a lasting appreciation for Korean culture.

5. Develop Global Citizenship: By immersing students in Korean culture, we nurture empathy, cross-cultural understanding, and the skills needed to thrive in a multicultural world.

Through our educational programs, festivals, and collaborations with statewide associations, KAOC aspires to be a bridge connecting Colorado to the beauty and richness of Korea, while empowering students to explore and embrace their own potential.
