Background Statement
Kindness was founded in 2020 to address critical gaps in health and wellbeing. Many families and individuals – including immigrants, refugees, and others navigating major life transitions – face complex systems without the support, language access, or cultural connection they need to thrive.
We started with a simple but powerful idea: the best support comes from trusted peers who share lived experience, language, and cultural understanding with the communities they serve. Today, our peer health navigators help neighbors across Colorado's front range access essential care, advocate for themselves, and connect with resources that promote dignity and wellbeing.
Through programs like peer-based health navigation and Baby TALK, which supports parents during their child's earliest years, Kindness has grown into a community-powered network. With roots in community health worker programs during the pandemic (when we employed 45 peer community health workers reflecting the rich diversity across the state) we are currently focused on helping those facing barriers to health and stability.
Because our neighbors need our kindness.
(Kindness is a community initiative of the Front Range Area Health Education Center (FRAHEC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to improve health across Colorado. Your donations to Kindness are received through FRAHEC and fully tax-deductible.)
