The KidStuff Community Foundation believes in making healing possible for everyone. The Foundation provides several programs to help ensure that no one in our Colorado communities are left without the mental health care they need, regardless of their circumstances. The programs supported by the Foundation include:

1) Gap Funding for Therapy: when people lose Medicaid coverage due to administrative or other delays. The KidStuff Community Foundation provides a short-term source of funding for therapy sessions to ensure a continuity of care until Medicaid is reinstated.

2) Reduced Fee Therapy: The KidStuff Community Foundation provides financial support toward the cost of reduced-fee counseling services for clients who are uninsured or underinsured.

3) Therapeutic Groups for Children and Adults: The KidStuff Community Foundation funds the cost of materials and preparation for therapeutic groups such as parenting support, trauma recovery, art and DBT groups, somatic and nature therapy, and expressive modalities like yoga and movement. These groups foster connection, resilience, and emotional growth, and are led by experienced therapists. The Foundation also provides financial support for people without Medicaid who would like to participate in a therapeutic group but are unable to pay.

4) Community-Based Outreach: The KidStuff Community Foundation supports mental health outreach to clients who live in rural areas, clients living in poverty, and clients who are underrepresented and underserved in the mental health community. The Foundation collaborates with other community partners to participate in community events, distribute resources, and engage directly with those who need support the most.

5) Rural Pediatric Mental Health Outreach: The KidStuff Community Foundation funds travel-based therapy programs that bring play therapy, art therapy, and other pediatric modalities directly to these communities. The Foundation covers non-billable expenses, such as travel, supplies, and extended workdays, to ensure every child receives the care they need.

Giving Activity

Mission

The KidStuff Community Foundation's mission is to transform lives through making mental health sevices more accessible for everyone.

Background Statement

The KidStuff Community Foundation is inspired by the creative, dedicated and compassionate work of the therapists and support team of KidStuff Child and Family Counseling, P.C. After more than 10 years of providing high-quality, accessible mental health services for children, families, and adults who have Medicaid, commercial health insurance, or who need a reduced fee for services, we recognize there are still gaps in what is needed vs. what is funded.
