KJOL's Mission is to provide:
The Gospel message to those who do not know Jesus as their personal Savior, as charged in the Great Commission in Matthew 28.
Music and teaching from the Word of God, which uplifts, encourages, and instructs in the ways of truth and righteousness in the life of believers.
Quality Christian radio programming reaching the Western Slope of Colorado and Eastern Utah, supporting the Body of Christ and the local Church.
Founded by Pastor Howard Owen, KJOL officially went on the air on April 4th, 1982 and has served the Western Slope with the Word and the Gospel since. It served in that capacity, and also grew, until it was sold by CCU in Denver to KLOVE October 5th, 2000. KJOL was then restarted under the same leadership and format under MBC Grand Broadcasting July 1st, 2001. On July 31st, 2002, KJOL formed a non-profit, United Ministries, and MBC sold KJOL to United Ministries to be independently owned and operated as a 501(c)3 organization with a board of directors. KJOL has operated the ministry that way since, and continues to proclaim God's light to the world.
