EVERY JEFFCO STUDENT THRIVES is the vision of the Jeffco Schools Foundation. It's what we stand for and work towards every day. We enable our vision through our mission to connect community and resources to students and classrooms.
Jeffco Public Schools includes over 150 public schools, over 69,000 students, nearly 14,000 district and school staff, and spans a vast geography. One in three students are low income.
Jeffco Schools Foundation plays a unique role in Jeffco. We are positioned as a trusted partner in K-12 education and have a forty-year-long track record of partnering with Jeffco Public Schools to support academic enrichment for Jeffco students. We have become a trusted convener across community and county partners in advancing solutions for our students, schools, and communities.
Successful learning environments ensure that the whole child is supported. Be our partner in supporting students to have the resources they need to succeed - resources such as clothing, summer literacy programs, arts enrichment and STEM programming.

In Jeffco, not all students, staff, and families are starting from the same place nor do they need the same things to reach their fullest potential. We align our approach to equity with the district to ensure that our investments result in the greatest impact to those most in need. We strive to support educational experiences that are accessible and help students from all backgrounds feel a sense of welcoming and belonging.

In Jeffco, we aspire to be a world-class school district which requires us to inspire one another to make an impact, focus on solutions, maximize our partnerships, and hold ourselves accountable for successful outcomes for all students.
Engagement
The Foundation works alongside the Jeffco Schools District, its staff, students, partners, and community to collaborate and move to action. Quality education is a right for every student, and community engagement and alignment is essential for providing that to our wide district.
The Foundation was incorporated as a Colorado nonprofit organization in 1983 by a group of community members and educators who wanted to bridge public and private resources for public education in Jeffco Public Schools. The Jeffco Public Schools Board of Education created the nonprofit entity to be managed as a separate organization of community leaders passionate about the value, excellence, and benefits of public education in Jeffco.
The organization continues to partner with the District Education Center and Schools, both by being responsive to ideas generated by staff and by bringing new ideas to staff and schools which result in student impact. Our current work aligns with Jeffco Generations and many of the Foundation's grants support enhancing the student experience.
The Foundation is a separate entity with its own 501c3 status from the IRS and independent incorporation with the Colorado Secretary of State, and board of directors; it works to be as responsive to the needs of students in Jeffco Public Schools.
The Superintendent of the district and a member of the district's Board of Education both serve as ex offico members of the Foundation's Board of Directors, and the Board is comprised of Jeffco parents, community leaders and County stakeholders.
