We say, “Every Jeffco student thrives,” and we mean it
— because too many are navigating obsticles no child should face.

Jeffco Public Schools serve 75,000 students and 23,000 (31%) of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
This means 1 in 3 students begin school hungry,
a stark reminder of challenges Jeffco families face.
Jeffco Public Schools are not just a place for learning—they are a lifeline for our Jeffco kids.

As community members—whether or not we have children in Jeffco schools—we share a responsibility. These are our neighbors’ kids, the future workforce and leaders from Jefferson County. When schools lack resources the burden doesn’t just fall on teachers: it falls on all of us.

That is why Jeffco Schools Foundation matters. Our mission—to bring equitable, excellent, and engaging educational opportunities to students across all Jeffco schools—is urgent.

With your support, we do more than patch gaps: we build real pathways for every child to grow, belong, and succeed.

This Colorado Gives Day, your gift makes a difference:

🏫 Provide critical resources for under-resourced schools so no child falls behind.
🍎 Empower teachers to create classrooms that inspire and nurture every student.
🎨 Open doors to arts, career paths + enrichment for those missing out on these opportunities.

These are our Jeffco kids and we can arm them not just with hope, but with the ability to reach their full potential! Together, we can invest in their future not just as a charitable gesture, but as a shared responsibility.

Mission

OUR VISION - Every Jeffco student thrives.

OUR MISSION - Jeffco Schools Foundation is a fundraising partner of the Jeffco Public Schools district. We cultivate partnerships to ensure Jeffco students thrive through equitable, excellent, and engaging educational experiences.

Background Statement

The Foundation was incorporated as a Colorado nonprofit organization in 1983 by a group of community members and educators who wanted to bridge public and private resources for public education in Jeffco Public Schools. The Jeffco Public Schools Board of Education created the nonprofit entity to be managed as a separate organization of community leaders passionate about the value, excellence, and benefits of public education in Jeffco.

The organization continues to partner with the District Education Center and Schools, both by being responsive to ideas generated by staff and by bringing new ideas to staff and schools which result in student impact. Our current work aligns with Jeffco Generations and many of the Foundation's grants support enhancing the student experience.

The Foundation is a separate entity with its own 501c3 status from the IRS and independent incorporation with the Colorado Secretary of State, and board of directors; it works to be as responsive to the needs of students in Jeffco Public Schools.

The Superintendent of the district and a member of the district's Board of Education both serve as ex offico members of the Foundation's Board of Directors, and the Board is comprised of Jeffco parents, community leaders and County stakeholders.
