Background Statement
Since our founding in 2009, we have believed that food is more than just something we grow and eat; food is a powerful catalyst for connection. Food can bring people together, teach us about our history, and strengthen our bonds. By learning about the origins of food, how it’s grown, and what it means, we can develop a closer relationship with our culture and community.
We provide various engagement options, including weekly volunteering and community events. We deliberately foster an environment for learning and sharing, encouraging collective growth. Initiatives like our school garden allow children to spend time outdoors, enjoy hands-on play in the dirt, and build pride by tasting the food they help grow. This supports our goal of connecting food consumption with understanding its role in nourishing our bodies, minds, and communities.
