Jackson County Council on Aging

Jackson County seniors make up approximately 35% of our county’s population. With the nearest pharmacies, doctors, dentists, and some specialty therapists located more than 60 miles away, access to services, resources, and opportunities can be challenging for many of our seniors. These geographic challenges can also limit their opportunities to participate in cultural, educational, and recreational activities.

At Jackson County Council on Aging (JCCOA), we are committed to providing meaningful activities that promote social connection, creativity, lifelong learning, and overall well-being for our seniors. We strive to offer a variety of programs that bring our community together, encourage new experiences, and help our seniors remain active and engaged.

We have received requests from our seniors for additional classes and activities, including acrylic painting, Instant Pot and air fryer cooking classes, sewing classes, and a variety of other crafting opportunities. Unfortunately, our current funding does not allow us to provide all of these requested programs.

Your donation through Colorado Gives can help make these activities possible! Contributions will help JCCOA purchase necessary supplies, materials, and equipment and provide opportunities for seniors to explore their interests, develop new skills, share their talents, and build meaningful friendships.

For seniors living in a rural community like Jackson County, these activities are about more than learning a new hobby. They provide opportunities for social interaction, personal enrichment, creativity, and a stronger sense of community.
