I Love LEOs

A nonprofit organization

The Beginning:

I love LEOs was founded on November 11, 2022, but it truly started before that. On March 22, 2021, tragedy struck Boulder, Colorado in the form of a mass shooting. On that day, City of Boulder Police Officer Eric Talley was among the ten beautiful souls lost. Once my Mom and I heard about it we knew we had to do something, we just didn't know what. Then we saw a square of cardboard on the floor of our mudroom and we did know what to do. I broke out my markers and started writing messages of encouragement on the cardboard. That night we went to the Boulder Police Department with our signs to show them how much they were loved. We went to the department every day for the next couple of months with our signs, different every time, no matter the weather or previous plans. In that time the police department accepted us into their close-knit family and took me under their wing. With much support and encouragement from the department, my family, my friends, and with the blessing of the Talley family; I love LEOs was born.    - Gil Gilmore, Founder of I Love LEOs
