$40,000 Goal

Ignatian Volunteer Corps Denver began in 2017 and has steadily grown each year — deepening our impact and expanding our reach across the greater Denver area. Today, we are proud to have 24 Service Corps Members serving at 15 nonprofit partner agencies, accompanying and supporting some of the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our community.

Your support helps sustain and grow this mission. This Colorado Gives Day, our goal is to raise $40,000 to strengthen IVC Denver’s capacity to serve others and nurture the spiritual growth of our volunteers who live out a faith that does justice.

Every gift — of any amount — makes a meaningful difference. Please consider donating today and help us continue building a more compassionate and connected Denver.

Testimonials

"I saw so many blessings in this organization and staff that focuses on supporting teens and their education (which is the gateway to reducing poverty). And I saw God's blessings on the scholars as they worked through so many obstacles to pursue their education with goal of attending college." IVC Denver Volunteer

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with our IVC service member. I am so grateful to IVC for providing this incredible service to nonprofits in Denver. We would never be able to afford someone like Ann if we had to pay what she is truly worth." Brad Reubendale, Executive Director, SAME café, Denver, CO

"After Chair Yoga, I help serve everyone a hot lunch, and make sure folks get a meal to go if they want one. This might be their dinner as well. Other than that my role is to simply be there and help out where necessary. Maybe it’s taking inventory of needed supplies, or sitting in on a Dominos game if they need a fifth, or helping organize a field trip or informational presentation. It’s an extraordinary coincidence that the name of the program is Kinship, a word our IVC community used often last year to describe our relationship with those we serve. We are equals on the journey of peace and justice. At Mulroy, they receive the benefits of Chair Yoga, and I receive the opportunity to learn Spanish and experience the bonds of their community." - IVC Volunteer

Giving Activity

Mission

The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) provides mature men and women the opportunity to serve the needs of people who are materially poor, to work for a more just society, and to grow deeper in faith by reflecting and praying in the Ignatian tradition.

Background Statement

In September 1995, two Jesuit priests, Jim Conroy, S.J. and Charlie Costello, S.J., gathered a small group of retired men and women to form the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC), an organization that combines service to the poor with a unique process of spiritual reflection. From this inaugural meeting of two Jesuit directors and eleven lay volunteers, IVC has grown to encompass 20 Regional chapters across the country with over five hundred volunteers. Headquartered in Baltimore, MD, IVC is presently served by a Board of Directors and is administered by a National Staff, Regional Directors, and Spiritual Reflectors.
