UPDATE from Colorado Youth Sports on 9/6/2024:

There has been a tremendous response to Youth Sports Giving Day, and over $1.5 million has already been raised to support youth sports across the state. The original $1 million in matching funds has been expended, but due to the enthusiasm for supporting youth sports, the Daniels Fund has added an additional incentive fund of $500,000. This fund will be distributed on a percentage basis to ensure every gift made through September 30 continues to make an impact. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Amplify Your Impact

Incentive Fund: Every donation made after the original $1 million match fund was expended will be boosted by the additional $500,000 incentive fund.

How it works: All nonprofits receive a % of the fund equal to the % they raise for the Youth Sports Giving Day campaign (after the original match funds were expended). Raise 10%, get 10% of the incentive fund. The $250,000 match cap per organization still applies.

Example: For instance, if the total Youth Sports Giving Day campaign raises $3 million in donations, the additional incentive fund will be distributed based only on the $2 million raised after the original $1 million match was fully utilized. So, if Youth Nonprofit X raises $200,000 after the initial match is expended, they will receive 10% of the incentive fund at the end of the campaign. Organizations will still be capped at $250,000 in total matching funds, and donations that were already matched will not count toward their share of the incentive fund.

All match fund calculations are verified post-campaign after September 30 to ensure the most accurate disbursement of funds in mid-October to participating nonprofits.

FIELD DEVELOPMENT

Developing the field will allow us to have outside recess, host organized sports, and provide a track for the running club. In addition, we'll be able to partner with the community through opportunities like hosting Summer Kids Club.

Total Cost for Field Development = $122,900

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to empower families through education and mentorship with holistic care founded on Christ’s command to “love one another.”

Background Statement

Beginning in 2014, Hope in Our City has served 721 refugee and impoverished individuals in the Sun Valley neighborhood through educational and mentorship programs. We have offered supplementary programs to holistically strengthen families, including after school enrichment and intervention, adult ESL, sewing, youth leadership and development, Bible studies, teen Alpha, Summer Kids Club, citizenship and entrepreneurial classes. Over the years we have adapted to changes in the community, ensuring our programs are relevant and helpful in gaining independence and success. Redevelopment of the Sun Valley neighborhood from low income to mixed income, along with changes in local educational policy and academic performance prompted Hope in Our City’s vision of a Christ-centered school that offers exceptional education to students of all backgrounds.
