Background Statement
Grassroots
Hope Has No Borders blossomed from Denver's grassroots movement, ignited by compassionate moms and neighbors. Our journey sparked from a heartfelt commitment to addressing a humanitarian crisis as thousands of immigrants were bussed into our city. Faced with urgent needs, like housing for children and individuals living on our streets, feeding hungry people, and ensuring newcomers arriving in sandals had winter clothing, we acted quickly.
Within four days in early November 2023, 1000 moms and neighbors were mobilized, and in 12 weeks, our grassroots movement grew to over 6000 in the metro area. Today, we stand strong with over 8000 (and counting) committed community members and immigrants- all dedicated to bringing hope to our city.
As our grassroots movement expanded, we recognized the crucial need for housing, legal, & employment support and built programs addressing the gaps in existing offerings.
We heard the resounding desire for work, not handouts, and have since ensured that all our programs are a form of mutual aid and bring dignity - not dependence.
Anchored in our grassroots origins in Denver, our aim is to nurture a supportive environment fostering integration, cultural connections, and meaningful contributions to our vibrant community. Together, we are replacing crisis with HOPE.
