Hope Chest Charity provides comfort and support to women facing mastectomy surgery.
Donations allow Hope Chest to purchase specialized sweatshirts to handle the drains of this specific surgery. Recipients of these sweatshirts are women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer advised to have the surgery or those choosing preventative double mastectomy. Donations of any amount are welcome, but not required to receive a sweatshirt.
Hope Chest supports local hospitals and individual requests all around the globe. Our ultimate goal is to provide sweatshirts to hospitals across the nation.

Mission
Together, we are raising money to provide specialized sweatshirts for women recovering from mastectomy surgeries. These sweatshirts are delivered prior to their surgery to handle the drains.
Background Statement
This charity was formed from a fleeting thought to avoid casseroles!! Barrie Hufford, the creator of Hope Chest was having a preventative double mastectomy in 2021. Her mother had passed away in 2011, only 4 months after a breast cancer diagnosis. Barrie appreciated her friends and family wanting to offer support, but decided to pay it forward. She asked for donations to be able to purchase specialized sweatshirts for her local hospital. The response was overwhelming and it was clear there was a need for this service. Since then, Hope Chest has delivered to 47 states and 9 different countries so far..
The cost to produce and ship one Hope Chest Sweatshirt is $45. When you donate to Hope Chest, you enable us to send sweatshirts to hospitals across the country to be delivered to their patients and to individual requests around the globe.
