The Hive DGO is a youth-centered community hub in Durango, Colorado, where creativity, belonging, and mentorship come together. Through programs in art, skateboarding, music, and leadership, we create brave, inclusive spaces for under-resourced and underrepresented youth to connect, express themselves, and grow on their own terms.
For the past six years, The Hive has been on a mission to offer a safe, welcoming space where young people can find their voice and community. Now more than ever, communities need youth programs that build resilience, confidence, and belonging. As we settle into our new space, we’re focused on keeping it open and accessible for all. Creative expression is one of the most powerful ways youth connect with themselves and others. Whether they’re writing lyrics, painting, skating, recording music, or experimenting with fashion, The Hive offers space and support to explore without pressure.
MENTORSHIP THAT LASTS
At The Hive, mentorship doesn’t happen in formal check-ins or set schedules. It happens during ski lift rides, art projects, cleanup days, and long afternoons in the skate park. Many of the youth we serve don’t have consistent adults in their lives, and we take that responsibility seriously. We focus on building relationships that are real, personal, and built on trust.

The Hive wouldn’t exist without the people who shape it every day. Youth are at the center, and it’s the collective effort of staff, mentors, artists, board members, and families that brings it all to life.
