Support the Heart of Our Community — The Historic Coaldale Schoolhouse
The Historic Coaldale Schoolhouse has stood proudly in the Arkansas River Valley for over a century. Once a bustling school, it now serves as the vibrant heart of our community—bringing together residents of Coaldale, Howard, Cotopaxi, Salida, Westcliffe, Buena Vista, and beyond.
Today, the Schoolhouse is more than just a building. It’s a gathering place, a cultural venue, and a symbol of small-town connection. Throughout the year, it hosts an ever-growing list of community-building events, including:
Farmer’s Markets
Workshops & Educational Classes
Celebrations & Festivals
Seed Exchanges & Support Groups
Concerts & Music Gatherings
Exercise & Wellness Classes
And now, a dedicated space for our local volunteer fire department!
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Coaldale Community Building Association (CCBA) relies on the generous support of neighbors like you—near and far.
💡 This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and every contribution makes a real difference. Whether you can give $5 or $500, your support helps us preserve this historic landmark and keep it thriving for generations to come.
Double Your Impact!
If you're a Sangre de Cristo Electric Association (SDCEA) customer, your donation could be matched—up to $200!
