Background Statement

The HP Foundation was created in 2006 as a Colorado corporation, and achieved 501-C-3 status from the IRS in 2007. The Foundation has completed one or more projects in 32 states at or near their highpoints, as well as D.C. and several projects that are regional or national in scope. The Foundation has received over 750 donations from over 240 individual donors, and is approaching $250,000 in total donations. Much of that has already been invested at state highpoints. The ratio of Project Investment to G&A expenses is over 90%.
