Background Statement
The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association (CAA) was created in 2001 as a result of community members and volunteers seeing the need to provide rich cultural, educational, and entertainment experiences that would give value to the community and enhance the quality of life right here in Highlands Ranch.
Since its inception, the CAA offerings cultural opportunities for the community of Highlands Ranch as well as residents of northern Douglas County. Some programs that the CAA offers are the Winter Cultural Series, Chinese New Year, Family Magic Show, Hooked on Fishing, Ladies' Fishing on the Fly, Classic Car Show, the Culture on the Green Series, the Summer Concert Series, Jazz at the Mansion, Highlands Ranch Days, Oktoberfest, and Classical Music Series, just to name a few. The CAA also funds in part The Highlands Ranch Encore Chorale, numerous dance, art, and theater classes. The CAA has access to 8,200 acres of pristine wilderness area called the Backcountry Wilderness Area. It is the perfect venue in which the CAA can offer programs that teach children and adults about ecology, conservation, and wildlife habits and habitats.
Moving forward, the CAA will continue to bring diverse, quality cultural programming to northern Douglas County residents.
