$50,000 Goal

The Hi Fives are a First Robotics Team (Team 4944) based out of Grand Junction, Colorado.

FIRST Robotics Competition is a varsity sport for the mind.  The students are presented with a game in January and they must design, build, refine, and program a robot to compete in approximately 7 weeks.  These robots usually weigh in around 150lbs and can be up to 4ft tall or even taller depending on the year.

The students learn the engineering process as well as how to use tools and develop real world skills.  It is the only program that allows students to go from concept to competition to see how their ideas work in a real-world competitive environments.

There are not many opportunities like this for students, especially in the Grand Valley where STEM education extracurricular programs drop off steeply in High School.

Please support these students in their ambitious goals!

Mission

We seek to build the leaders of tomorrow by providing a safe and comfortable environment for our team members to learn and grow and by spreading our love for STEM and robotics to inspire our entire community.

Background Statement

The Hi Fives have been competing since 2014. In that time the kids have earned an entry into the World Championships in Houston 6 times. We have a number of awards for engineering and supporting STEM education and robotics in our community.
