Hello Nurze is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering FREE tools and resources to medically complex families who require in-home nursing care. Founded in 2023 by a Children’s Hospital Colorado family who personally struggled to find adequate in-home nursing care for their medically complex daughter, Hello Nurze was created to empower families and individuals navigating the search for in-home nursing while raising awareness of the pediatric home health nursing shortage crisis. Note: “Medically complex” is a term used when a child or other individual has a medical condition (in some cases multiple conditions) that require ongoing specialized care. The condition can vary from rare illnesses, to premature birth, and even incidents involving some sort of physical trauma.

The nonprofit’s flagship program, the Connection Hub, was described by a Children’s Hospital Colorado pulmonologist as “the eHarmony for medically complex families and nurses.” This free, national platform helps families and nurses connect more directly around in-home nursing opportunities, expanding search reach and improving transparency for both sides while working alongside, not replacing, the traditional nursing agency model. The Hub serves as a connection and recruitment tool, enabling families to identify potential nurses they can ultimately onboard through a third-party agency of their choice.
More recently, Hello Nurze launched Consider The Shift, part of its F.A.C.E.S. Project (Families Advocating for Care, Education, and Support). The initiative addresses a critical gap in nursing education: fewer than 1 in 5 nursing students are exposed to pediatric home health during nursing school. Consider The Shift provides free, curriculum-ready resources that introduce students to pediatric home health as a career path. Its first educational video is already being used by nursing schools nationwide, making it easier for educators to incorporate this often-overlooked area of nursing into their curricula.

Hello Nurze currently partners with over 45 leading pediatric hospitals across the country, expanding awareness of its free resources and helping connect families with tools to navigate the search for in-home nursing care.
