They all have a seat at Guidestone’s table.

Food connects us to each other, to the land, and to our own history. For nearly 20 years, Guidestone has held those connections together in Chaffee County and across Colorado.

It starts with a farmer or rancher who grows the food. It passes through the hands of a kid pulling a radish out of the ground. It lands on the table of a family who can count on it. And it lasts because a whole community decides local food is worth protecting.

How our programs reach the community:

• Farm to School gives every kid in Salida schools the chance to grow, harvest, and taste food they planted themselves, connected to classroom learning.
• Farmhands Education builds hands-on skills and a love of farming and ranching for youth and adults.
• Colorado Land Link helps new producers find land, learn the trade, and connect with landowners and resources across the state.
• Community fridges and our farmstand keep fresh, local food within reach in Salida and Buena Vista, including for families using SNAP.
• The Hutchinson Homestead & Learning Center connects our valley’s agricultural past to its future, and hosts our Pumpkin Patch & Harvest Festival, now in its 20th year.
