Mirasol were being built. At that time, I was living at Mirasol Senior Community with my daughter. She uses a walker herself, and it was a struggle for her to care for me and take me to appointments. I knew in my heart that I really wanted to come here, and I just couldn't wait. I was one of the first elders to arrive and I was very excited when I finally moved here in 2014. I treasure my privacy and love having my own private room and bathroom. Then it started to hit home and I realized, "You're on your own, kid!" John, our guide, interested me in activities, like gardening. That helped me find my way. My daughter still lives nearby so we can visit each other. My great grandsons visit, too.
