Background Statement
The Greater Parker Foundation gives residents and supporters a way to give back directly to the Town of Parker programs they enjoy each day.
Some of our donors' favorite programs include:
Parker Arts. Thanks to the support of people like you, hundreds of thousands of patrons each year are able to enjoy the arts. The Town of Parker’s funding only covers a portion of what we need to program our quality concerts, classes, art galleries and outreach efforts. The rest comes from creative, passionate people like you who make our programming possible.
Parks & Recreation. The PROS Department staff manage over 398 acres of Town-owned and proposed parkland, 41 miles of trails, 14 parks and 1,144 acres of open space. Staff also oversee four recreation facilities and coordinate a full range of adult and youth activities, which include aquatic classes, enrichment educational classes, fitness and wellness, sports, therapeutic recreation and special events. To keep up with the expectations of a rapidly growing community, the Department diligently plans and invests in capital improvement projects with new and upgraded parks, trails and facilities.
Parker Police Department. For many years, the Parker Police Department has championed a progressive set of policies and practices that has resulted in us becoming a leader in 21st Century policing, both regionally and nationally. Many organizations reach out to the Parker Police Department for guidance on how to do things right. We are accredited with excellence through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
Parker Teen Court. In January 2005, the Municipal Court was searching for a unique way to deal with youth offenders in Parker when it created Teen Court. When first advertised, Teen Court received a tremendous response from the teens in the community who wanted to volunteer. Parker Teen Court aims to reduce juvenile crime by expanding the quality of youth and juvenile justice through positive peer influence. The Teen Court handles approximately 60-65 cases annually.
