For 49 years, Grand River Meals on Wheels has been a vital source of food and support for homebound older adults, serving communities from Parachute/Battlement Mesa to New Castle. The demand for GRMOW’s services has grown exponentially, increasing by over 1,000% over the past two decades to the current 25,254 meals delivered in 2024. However, GRMOW offers more than just meals—its nearly 100 dedicated volunteers provide daily wellness checks and meaningful social interaction for recipients. For many recipients, these visits are the highlight of their day. Beyond benefiting meal recipients, GRMOW also provides a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment to its volunteers. Grand River Health remains steadfast in its mission to enhance the health and well-being of the homebound through this invaluable program. Grand River Meals on Wheels is more than a meal delivery service—it is a lifeline, a source of connection, and a testament to the power of community care.
