Restrooms for the Goodnight Barn Property
$275 Raised
The Goodnight Barn Preservation Committee was formed in Spring 2014, with the intent of raising awareness and funds to restore the Charles Goodnight Barn in Pueblo County, Colorado. Seven strong and persistent women and one very talented man began with nothing but the desire, drive and energy to save the Goodnight Barn.
Attempts had been made in the past to secure and stabilize the 155 year old Barn, but without the necessary application for grants, the work faltered and stopped . The Preservation Committee is dedicated to assisting the City of Pueblo (who owns the Barn and the acre it sits on) in applying for State Historic Fund Grants and other foundation grants to see the project through to its completion.
The restoration of the Goodnight Barn has been completed!
The Committee is now working on issues of importance before we can open the Barn for tours and events. Security and signage will be first. We are talking with the Lake administration to see how we could go about putting in a bathroom. This will take awhile, so any events we have, we will need porta potties.
The mission of Goodnight Barn Historic Preservation, Inc. is to restore, preserve, and interpret the importance of Charles Goodnight, his Rock Cañon Ranch, and ranching in the 1860s and 1870s to Pueblo County's and Southern Colorado's history.
