HELP GLOBAL ACCESS 2030 PROVIDE CLEAN WATER TO 800 FAMILIES

Global Access 2030 (GA2030) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to addressing global water crises and improving access to clean and safe drinking water. Our mission is to ensure that by the year 2030, every person on the planet has access to a sustainable and reliable source of safe water. To achieve this ambitious goal, GA2030 focuses on implementing innovative and effective water solutions in underserved communities around the world.

A key innovation is our water filter system, a groundbreaking technology designed to provide a simple yet efficient solution to water contamination. Our filter utilizes advanced filtration techniques to remove harmful parasites and bacteria from water, making it safe for consumption. The water filter system is simple, easy to use, and requires minimal maintenance, making it suitable for communities with limited resources and infrastructure.

GA2030 collaborates with local partners, governments, and communities to identify areas in need and implement water programs. Together, we not only distribute water filter systems but also conduct training sessions to educate communities about water hygiene and sanitation practices. This approach ensures that the impact of the initiative is long-lasting and sustainable, empowering communities to take ownership of their water resources and health.

GA2030 aims to break the cycle of waterborne diseases, improve overall health and well-being, and create opportunities for economic and social development in communities worldwide.

To ensure people worldwide have access to safe and affordable drinking water by 2030 in support of the United Nations sustainable development goals.

Background Statement

INTRODUCTION

Providing access to safe drinking water is the easiest way to directly impact health, happiness, and productivity of communities.

Over the past 30 years, founder of Global Access, Roger Cabbage, explored the world and experienced first-hand the effect contaminated water sources has on families. Every aspect of the family and children’s lives was deeply effected. Parents struggled to provide while children missed school or worse. According to the World Health Organization, diarrheal illness leads to the death of 2,195 children every day – more than AIDS, malaria, and measles combined. (WHO) Changing this statistic, became Roger’s personal mission. After learning that common outdoor filters quickly foul and fail under challenging circumstances, Roger partnered with Rob Miller to develop an entire safe water program specifically for people living in remote areas of developing nations.

MORE THAN DELIVERING A ‘FIX’

Global Access works closely with Strategic Partners to deeply understand community challenges, cultural context, and daily routines. Our comprehensive and collaborative program significantly increases the integration of healthy water routines through a proven process of distribution, education, and validation.

----------

RESEARCH

We have spent years implementing, researching, and testing various solutions. We found that people everywhere are intimidated by technology and have a fear of breaking a highly valuable item. When filters were disconnected or opened for cleaning, parts were often lost, discarded, or the clean side of the filter was contaminated. We inspected filters with missing seals allowing water to bypass the filter. We opened filters backwashed with contaminated water that had visual evidence of fouling and failure. Cleaning that required a plastic syringe often results in loss, abandonment, or contamination by kids as a squirt gun.

----------

IMPACT

Global Access is focused on maximizing positive social impact. We use our resources to benefit the most people possible with the most liters filtered possible. This is why we operate with our low-overhead administrative model and produce our own filters with select manufacturers.

SAMPLE BENEFIT ANALYSIS

Our sample pilot program would significantly improve the health of approximately 2,800 people in rural communities. With a conservative daily use per family, this program will be providing over 7.3 million liters of clean water annually. Over a period of 3 years, this equates to under $2 per person annually and $0.002 per liter.

STRATEGIC PARTNERS

Our Strategic Partners around the world help us reach remote villages through their established relationships to make an impact on family health. Global Access and Strategic Partners develop goals, set budgets, assign roles, and raise funds collaboratively. We are focused on responsible growth, one community at a time, to deliver solutions with measurable impact. Together, we measure the efficacy of our program by conducting observations, interviews, and water tests of a minimum of a 20% sample size after 6 to 12 months of daily use. With support of Strategic Partners, Global Access plans to expand our program to provide access to safe and clean drinking water to every family within our network by the year 2030.
