FSTS is acutely aware of the dynamics of human trafficking and provides support to those in such vulnerable situations. FSTS will help find housing, food, transportation, and other services to help a survivor leave their abuser. FSTS will help connect survivors with trusted law enforcement officers who want to help the survivor gain independence and the courage to speak out. Most importantly, FSTS will immediately connect with the survivor on a personal level, creating trust.FSTS cares deeply about all the people we support. We forge true and lasting relationships with those we help. Not only do we attend court appearances and trial preparation sessions, but we also attend baby showers, weddings, graduations, and other life milestones that survivors want us to be part of. What we do matters because it matters to all we serve. It matters to the victim/survivor that we are present. It matters to Law Enforcement when they are on scene and struggling to connect with someone who is scared of police, and we can be a sounding board for them to help build rapport. It matters to the District Attorney’s prosecuting their abusers and helping keep the one they are fighting for served and feeling seen while they work tirelessly for their justice. It matters because it works. Time and time again we hear from law enforcement, district attorneys, and especially survivors, that this simply would not have been possible without FSTS. FSTS fosters a sense of trust and collaboration that is essential to effectively serve all involved to create productive, trauma informed outcomes that no one else in a governmental agency is able to provide.

“Your presence has been a constant source of comfort. I am filled with gratitude for your unwavering support and guidance, even when I hated you for it. The journey has been tough, but knowing you were there to help me navigate made all the difference.” Survivor
“I can honestly say that I cannot imagine how I handled these challenging cases before she became a part of our team. Over the course of my career, I have worked on thousands of cases involving victims of crime, but few have required the kind of support and services that our trafficking survivors need and deserve. Historically, our system-based advocates would provide basic support and information about the case for as long as it lasted. That type of advocacy just doesn’t work with these cases.
Jenelle goes above and beyond to connect with every survivor – adult or juvenile and maintains constant communication with them. She is compassionate, responsive but also tough when the situation requires it. Jenelle attends every court date to ensure she remains informed about the case and advocates on behalf of survivors who cannot speak for themselves in important hearings. Jenelle doesn’t simply “hand-out” resources to victims-survivors. Instead, she pushes them to work towards autonomy while coordinating therapy, housing, and attending to a variety of needs along that journey.”
