With unprecedented levels of visitation, park fees only cover some of the costs of protecting and managing Lory State Park, and there remains a gap in resources and funding to fully support the park. A gift to Friends of Lory State Park makes a direct and immediate impact on closing this gap. Gifts in 2024 and 2025 provided funds the Homestead Accessible Trail which accommodates people in wheel chairs, walkers and those with auditory and visual challenges.
Testimonials
Sandy Scott of Fort Collins says, "Congratulations on completing the Homestead Accessible Trail. We have been walking the trail and enjoying the benches nearly every day; from sunrise to sunset. The entire experience is incredible. It's easy to access, surrounded by beauty, and filled with an inclusive vibe so that more people can enjoy the outdoors together. A big shout-out to your whole team for the vision and commitment to action. It's a wonderful addition to our community."
Sara Abernathy, the winner of the 2020 TREK Roscoe 7 raffle, says, "We love Lory because of the fun features, well-built trails with different difficulties, and the ability to get away from town to recreate. It's so gorgeous."
