Background Statement
Many of you are familiar with our historic 10 years of FoCo Fondo presented by Fat Tire, a gravel ride and race in Northern Colorado. Our years of involvement in the community with businesses and participants taught us that there are more needs than what our event could meet alone—especially for historically marginalized groups.
The growing needs we identified became our motivation for creating Friends of FoCo Fondo, a 501(c)(3) recognized organization, to better serve our community's and people's needs. While many of our initiatives developed for BIPOC, gender expansive, women, and para athletes began under FoCo Fondo, this is our attempt to not just meet the needs, but create a thriving community.
With our formal establishment in 2024, this past year has been our first full year of engagement and community. We are excited for what exists today, and for the possibilities of what could be in the future. Thank you for being along for the ride!
The primary ways Friends of FoCo Fondo fulfills it's mission is through it's Leadership Program, scholarship programs, women's clinic, beginner's clinic, Safe Routes to School partnership, educational sessions, and community gathering events.
