Many of our dogs come to us from high-kill out-of-state and in-state shelters, followed by owner surrenders. FRGSR is able to provide a German Shepherd (GSD) or GSD mix with the care and assistance they need. When FRGSR takes a dog, we do not give up on that dog. We put in the resources necessary to place each one in a loving home. Unfortunately, we do not have enough foster homes to meet the requests for placement.
FRGSR is committed to a long term capital plan to acquire a proper structure to accommodate our foster care needs. We have rescued dogs not just because they were easily adoptable, but because the dog was in need and we were able to help, even those needing expensive vet care.
This past year we have experienced an increased need to place mothers and puppies. Expectant mothers and litters are beautiful but need additional resources, thus putting a strain on the foster families.
Testimonials
"Our GSD came from FRGSR...she was abused and taken from her owner. FRGSR worked with her to regain her trust. We would never have guessed our GSD had issues before her adoption into our family."
