About The Foxhole Project
No one stands alone.
The Foxhole Project is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit built by and for veterans. Our mission is to reconnect service members, veterans, and their families by fostering a strong, supportive community through outdoor experiences, peer connection, and shared purpose.
Life after service changes all of us. Some veterans thrive immediately. Others take time to find their footing. But nearly every veteran understands the loss of camaraderie, shared mission, trust, and the sense that someone has your six.
The Foxhole Project exists to rebuild that connection.
We create outdoor, nonclinical spaces where veterans and families gather around campfires, trails, coffee tables, and shared work. Not as patients. Not as case numbers. As peers. This community is open to veterans who are thriving, transitioning, rebuilding, or simply looking for people who understand.
What We Do
Why It Matters
Each year, more than 200,000 service members transition from military service into civilian life. Many leave behind not only a career, but a built-in community. The loss of camaraderie can be quiet, but significant.
Strong peer networks help veterans stay connected, seek support earlier, and remain engaged in their communities. Connection is not a slogan. It is infrastructure.
The Foxhole Project strengthens that infrastructure by creating spaces where veterans and families can gather, lead, and support one another long after service ends.
Because no one serves alone. And no one should come home alone.
Our Vision
A connected veteran community where no one feels isolated. Where camaraderie is rekindled, purpose continues, and leadership grows across trails, campfires, and every rally point we build together.
How We Steward Your Gift
The Foxhole Project is committed to responsible, mission-focused stewardship of every contribution.
General donations support the organization’s core work, including community gatherings, retreat development, outreach, supplies, insurance, digital tools, facilitator development, and program coordination.
Restricted fund donations are used only for the specific campaign or purpose identified on that fundraiser page.
Our goal is simple: keep programs accessible, accountable, and focused on rebuilding connection, camaraderie, and belonging for veterans and families.
How Your Gift Helps
Veterans and families attend Foxhole Project retreats and Campfire Socials at no cost. Community support makes that possible.
Your donation directly funds outdoor retreats, peer connection, leadership development, and the shared infrastructure that keeps our programs accessible to every veteran who wants to show up.
Every dollar strengthens connection, leadership, and belonging within the veteran community.

Because connection does not happen alone.
To reconnect service members, veterans, and their families by fostering a strong, supportive community through outdoor experiences, peer connection, and shared purpose. Creating spaces where they can rely on each other, grow together, and rebuild camaraderie beyond service.
The Foxhole Project is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2025 to strengthen veteran community connection in the San Luis Valley and beyond. Built from lived experience, the organization reconnects service members, veterans, and their families through outdoor retreats, Campfire Socials, skill-building events, and peer connection.
After military service, many veterans miss the camaraderie, shared mission, and built-in community that once came naturally. The Foxhole Project rebuilds that sense of connection through peer-led outdoor experiences that are accessible, welcoming, and open to veterans and families.
Programs are intentionally low-barrier and community-driven. Veterans gather not as clients or case numbers, but as peers. Through shared meals, outdoor challenges, leadership opportunities, and honest conversation, participants build relationships that extend beyond a single event.
The organization operates with a clear vision: a connected veteran community where no one feels isolated, camaraderie is rekindled, and leadership and purpose continue long after service. Through structured retreats, facilitator development, and local partnerships, The Foxhole Project is building sustainable systems of connection that reinforce belonging, trust, and long-term community resilience among those who served and the families who stand beside them.
