The FIRE Foundation of Denver is a gift to our Catholic schools. Each year, the FIRE Foundation will offer grants to schools that will be used to support students with significant learning needs who otherwise would not be able to attend. Through its fundraising, FIRE allows students with special needs to share in the unique opportunities that only Catholic schools offer our children, whether that means funding the salaries for special education teachers or paraprofessionals, acquiring adaptive technology, or supporting teacher training. We have already awarded over $80,000 for the 2022-23 school year and hope, through our fundraising endeavors, to increase the number of schools, students and families we can support during the 2023-24 school year.

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to provide children with special needs the opportunity for an inclusive Catholic education in the Catholic school they attend within the Archdiocese of Denver.

Background Statement

The affiliate FIRE Foundation of Denver was founded in 2021. It is a foundation that started 25 years ago in Kansas City, Missouri with the mission of providing children with special needs the opportunity to successfully attend Catholic school with their siblings. Since its foundation, FIRE Foundation Kansas City has helped students in 14 partner schools, and raised over $6 million in funding. We are hoping to do the same in our Archdiocese of Denver Catholic schools.
