Fight Oar Die

A nonprofit organization

Help us continue to decrease the stigma associated with mental health challenges by supporting our initiatives, our scholarship program, or our ocean rowing teams. We believe that by normalizing these issues, we can decrease suicide rates as those struggling will get the help they need.

Giving Activity

Mission

Mental health is a priority and key metric of community wellbeing; healthy individuals realize their full potential, and feel empowered to reach it.

Background Statement

Fight Oar Die was born of four Army Veterans who were tired of going to friends' funerals, and were inspired to row an ocean with the vision of using the platform to bring the much-needed attention to mental health challenges unique to Veterans and their families. After forming the organization in 2018, those four rowed the ocean, as the first-ever American team of four Veterans to row any ocean. 2019's team finished the crossing in four days less than 2018, 50 days. 2023's team will begin Dec. 12. 2025's team has two Colorado natives on it. We now provide Mental Health First Aid Training to anyone who wants it, we offer grants to students pursuing advanced degrees/touched by suicide/connected to Veteran community and want to give back. Our org continues to inspire Veterans from all over to row their own oceans, to live their life instead of taking it.
