Far Away Friends exists to equip youth in rural villages with the tools to transform their own communities and break cycles of generational poverty -- forever.
Background Statement
Co-Founders Collines Angwech (of Namasale, Uganda) and Jayme Ward (of Lakewood, Colorado) met in 2011 when Collines toured Jayme's high school with a group called Invisible Children, sharing her experiences growing up in war-torn Northern Uganda. The two instantly bonded over a shared dream to give kids around the world access to the tools to transform their communities --starting with education. Together, they created Far Away Friends & Global Leaders Primary School with the intent to inspire young future leaders to create change through education, connection & acts of radical global citizenship.
