Who We Are & Our Mission
The Filipino American Community of Colorado (FACC) is a 100% donation- and volunteer-led nonprofit organization with deep roots in the state, founded as “The Filipino Club of the Rockies” in 1954. For over 70 years, we’ve upheld a legacy as Colorado’s longest-standing AAPI nonprofit, serving as a respected voice and a force for positive change within the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Our mission is to promote, honor, and celebrate Filipino and Asian American culture, creating spaces and programs that unite, uplift, and empower individuals from all walks of life. As an active member of the Asian Chamber of Commerce, we collaborate with other cultural organizations to expand our reach and impact.
Led by our dedicated executive board, FACC has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. We’ve expanded our efforts to focus on empowering underserved communities across the Denver Metro area—and beyond—through an unwavering commitment to volunteerism, community support, and cultural enrichment.
Our Impact
Every donation to FACC translates directly into action and support for the community. Here’s a look at the tangible difference your contributions make:
• FACC Food Pantry: We operate a food pantry every other Friday, providing free groceries and essential supplies to underserved families. This initiative offers critical support to those facing food insecurity, ensuring that individuals and families in our community have access to nutritious food and household essentials.
• Support for the Unhoused: With the help of donors, we distribute approximately 1000 meals each annually to the unhoused community, along with essential items like clothing, blankets, and toiletries.
• Youth Empowerment: Each year, we provide 2 educational scholarships to deserving youth, creating pathways to success through mentorship, life skills training, and financial support.
• Cultural Events: We bring Filipino culture to the broader community through events, dance performances, and our annual AAPI+ Festival, which this year attracted over 1,500 attendees from diverse backgrounds and will continue to grow as an annual celebration of Asian heritage.
Through unique programs like our youth mentorship initiative, Filipino dance classes, and cultural language education workshops, FACC serves as a bridge between generations and cultures. These programs not only preserve our heritage but also foster a sense of belonging and pride within the community.
