Epic Experience offers many opportunities to connect with other cancer thrivers: weeklong camps in the Rockies, one-day regional meetups across the US, the Campfires of Hope: Living Beyond Cancer podcast, virtual exercise classes, and ThriveVR virtual reality programs.

Such an amazing day zip-lining, climbing through the trees and hanging out with friends old and new! As a cancer survivor, former camper and now volunteer with Epic Experience Beyond Cancer, I know firsthand how incredibly life-changing this community is and how lucky I am to be part of the Epic Experience family. The best part of the day was watching how a day of hanging out and connecting with other survivors and thrivers can truly transform lives. Some of our participants had just completed cancer treatment, and watching those survivors challenge themselves on the adventure course and then realize what they are capable of beyond cancer is so inspiring. Other participants are in active treatment, and so today was an incredible reminder for them of how strong and resilient they are. Epic Experience helped me live beyond my cancer and so now I volunteer with Epic Experience to help other survivors and thrivers live beyond cancer too.
Metastatic Breast Cancer Thriver

What I gained from Epic Experience is inexplicable and goes beyond anything I ever imagined to happen. You see, cancer has been a lonely and isolating journey for me. There are no support groups for 44 year old colon cancer survivors. In fact there is not much available in the way of survivorship resources and support where I live. At Epic Experience I was given the opportunity to unpack all my feelings of fear and sadness and at the same time share my strength and hopes.

Epic Experience empowers adult cancer survivors and thrivers to live beyond cancer.

Background Statement

In 2012, Nancy Ferro founded Epic Experience with one goal: offer hope to those affected by cancer. Nancy had seen the lasting mental and emotional effects of cancer after her oldest son, Michael, was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2007 at age 23. Since 2012 Epic Experience has supported thousands of adult cancer thrivers. In 2019, we served over 500 adult cancer thrivers through our camps and one day programs. Since the start of Covid in 2020, Epic Experience added many new virtual programs and one day meetups that have served over 15,000 adult cancer thrivers, survivors and caregivers.
