Testimonial - Aaliyah, 2024 Entryway Denver Hired Participant
“I had a great career. Then a family crisis derailed my life, and as a result I lost my job, then my home. Entryway sounded too good to be true after all I had been through, but I needed a new beginning and nothing else had seemed to be happening for me. I took the leasing courses and prepared for my interview. Simpson Housing gave me a chance. Now I really began again to believe in myself. I know there are second chances and new beginnings. To have someone there for you, cheering for you as you go through the process, knowing you're not alone made all the difference. I love my new apartment with its big, arched windows. It's a quiet place where I can read and have my own space. It's something I haven't had in a long time."
Entryway Denver works with nonprofit social welfare partners to provide the situationally homeless - people like Aaliyah who are ready and able to work but who are homeless because of losing their job, a medical emergency, domestic violence, a natural disaster or other life-changing event - with no-cost training for jobs in partnering housing complexes with onsite, fully furnished housing included.
87% of Entryway job placements this year are still in their positions - double the industry standard. Each brings an average $95,570 of new economic benefit to the community in the form of income taxes collected, savings in homeless services no longer needed, and per-person income, benefits, housing discount, and additional services.
Please donate now to help situationally homeless people and their children in Colorado regain the stability, dignity and prosperity that comes with a steady job and a home to call their own!
