Ensemble Charite

A nonprofit organization

Ensemble Charité is a not-for-profit organization with both charitable and musical ambitions. We perform top quality concerts, offering classical music, conducted by Michelle DeYoung, Ensemble Charité's Executive Director and 3-time Grammy winning Mezzo Soprano. The Chair of our Board is Yumi Hwang-Williams, who is also the Concertmaster for the Colorado Symphony. The ensembles are of different sizes, depending on the music, and range from full chamber orchestras to small string ensembles. Expenses to fund the orchestra and set up concerts are funded through donation. Revenue from ticket sales are donated to a local charity. As of this date, Ensemble Charité has donated to Bal Swan Children's Center, Broomfield FISH, and New Genesis.

Mission

Ensemble Charité is a music for charity organization that brings together professional and pre-professional musicians, offers world-class live performances, and donates ticket proceeds to local charities.

Background Statement

Founded in November of 2021, when the pandemic resulted in numerous live music events being cancelled, two musician friends came together to discuss the possibility of creating a new venture: Ensemble Charité. Envisioned as a means of making music and supporting charity, Ensemble Charité was also imagined to be a gathering place for community members and a place for young emerging musicians to perform alongside more seasoned musicians as a way of developing talent.

Ensemble Charité is now a 501(c)3 organization with a diverse lineup of musicians, strong board membership, and a history of performances that have allowed support of multiple local charities.
