Durango Swim Club (DSC) offers a high caliber, technique based, comprehensive competitive swimming program for children, adolescents and young adults. Our goal is to create lifelong swimmers who are technically sound in all four strokes. Additionally, we build responsible, considerate, honest swimmers. We strive to teach life skills such as self-discipline, work ethic, and commitment.
The Durango Swim Club seeks to help each student-athlete realize his or her full potential, both as a competitive swimmer and as a leader in the community. Our coaches strive to foster self-awareness in all stages of the training process and encourage athletes to take ownership of their preparation and performance.
DSC holds swim practice six days a week, twelve months out of the year at the Durango Recreation Center. DSC sends kids of all ages to State, Zones, All Stars, Sectionals, Futures Championships and Junior Nationals! And while many of our athletes choose to compete, the Durango Swim Club also serves as our community’s best and oftentimes only option for kids who simply want to improve their swimming technique, stamina, and all-around safety and comfort in the water before heading out to kayak down the Animas River or cannonball off the Lake Nighthorse Wibit.
