The Durango Creative District is at the heart of our community’s vibrant arts scene, and we’re ready to take it to the next level—with your help. We’re working to unite more artists and performers with local businesses during the First Friday Art Walks, create deeper professional training programs for our creatives, and expand our ability to bring in more grants that will directly benefit our region and the voices that need it most.

With your support, we can provide artists and creative entrepreneurs the resources they need to grow, secure more opportunities for funding that will strengthen the entire creative ecosystem, and solidify Durango as THE hub for arts & culture in southwestern Colorado.

About the Durango Creative District

The Durango Creative District (DCD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit serving as the umbrella arts and culture organization for the city of Durango.

Our Core Pillars are:

• Elevate Resources by serving as a resource hub for the creative community in Durango and surrounding regions
• Provide municipal and regional Policy Advice and Advocacy to build a thriving cultural economy
• Bolster the Creative Community through projects and events

Key initiatives include First Friday Art Walks, which support local cultural organizations, expand art displayed in public spaces and business locations, and celebrate diversity and local heritage; providing extensive grant writing and project support for the City of Durango’s cultural funding programs, which have funded over $1.5 million dollars worth of projects in our community; distributing calls for public art; redeveloping Durango’s Public Art Master Plan; providing ongoing professional development programs with our “Creative 101” monthly talk series; and showcasing artists, performers, and other non-profit organizations in our Community Gallery.
