Thank you so much for your consideration of DHOH! At our core, we are horse people who are passionate about equine welfare. Our horses are our clients and we are proud to know that the horses that come to DHOH find quality care, kindness, and dedication. Happy Holidays!

Mission

Drifter's Hearts of Hope is a horse rescue, rehabilitation center and sanctuary that strives to circumvent the slaughter pipeline.

Background Statement

In 2014, Drifter's Hearts of Hope was founded to give at-risk horses a second chance at a forever home. We have rescued more than 730 horses through the efforts of volunteers, donors and our supporters. In 2017, we founded "The Annie Project", an initiative designed to keep retiring dude ranch horses out of danger of shipping to slaughter. 19 dude ranches participate in this program and the program is growing.

Now we have shifted our focus to providing sanctuary to a herd of horses that we committed to when we saved them. For one reason or another, they never found their forever homes. These horses will live out their days with us! We also provide vet care and necessities to 6 horses in our "Forever Foster" program. Our sanctuary is supported solely by donations and volunteer care. We are fully volunteer-run, which means that every dollar donated to the rescue goes directly to the horses. Follow us on social media to see the kind of care and ideal living conditions that we provide for our horses!

Thank you so much for your generosity and consideration, we and our horses appreciate it!
