Double Your Impact for DTL's 11th Birthday 🥳

THIS APRIL, the Denver Tool Library is raising funds to provide free and discounted memberships for community members who wouldn’t otherwise have access to tools, classes, and creative space.

Every donation is matched by DTL — so your impact goes twice as far.

  • $75 funds a full individual membership

  • $100 funds a household membership

  • $11–$50 helps build a membership (most are funded this way đź’• )

Why This Matters

For 11 years, the Denver Tool Library has helped people fix, make, learn, and build together.

We believe access to tools, skills, and creative space should not depend on how much money someone has. When cost is a barrier, people miss out on opportunities to repair, create, and grow.

This campaign is about removing that barrier.

When you give, you help someone else walk through the door: to borrow tools, take a class, try something new, gain confidence, and be part of this community.

DTL works because people show up for each other. So let’s do it big this birthday season!

Our Goal: Fund 100 Memberships

THIS MONTH, we’re working together to fund 100 free and discounted memberships.

Memberships vary in cost (including individual, household, and organizational options), so every donation contributes toward expanding access.

You don’t have to fund a full membership on your own to make a real impact. This works because a lot of people chip in, each at a level that feels right.

  • $11 = perfect birthday gift 🥳

  • $25 = one third of a membership with the match

  • $50 = strong boost toward access

  • $75 = funds a full membership with the match

  • $100+ = ripple effects funding memberships for multiple people and orgs

Most memberships are funded by many people giving what they can. Every dollar helps move us closer.

What Your Donation Makes Possible

Your support helps community members access:

  • thousands of tools for home repair, maintenance, and creative projects

  • community events that build practical skills and confidence

  • a welcoming space to learn, make, and connect 🤝

Access can mean:

  • fixing something instead of replacing it

  • starting a project that otherwise wouldn’t be possible

  • trying a new skill for the first time, gaining confidence

  • feeling like you belong in a hands-on space

Support the Share the Tools Fund

This campaign supports DTL’s Share the Tools Fund, which helps further reduce financial barriers to Denver Tool Library offerings.

It’s one way we’re working to make DTL more accessible, more inclusive, and more reflective of the full community we serve.

And you can help (x2!) when you donate this month.

Every donation is meaningful. Every donation is matched. Every donation build access.

🩵 đź’Ş 🩵  THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THIS AMAZING DTL COMMUNITY!! 🩵 đź’Ş 🩵

Giving Activity

Mission

The Denver Tool Library provides affordable access to over 5,000 tools and has evolved beyond merely lending tools; it has become a hub for skill-sharing workshops, community projects, and eco-conscious initiatives, adapting to meet the diverse needs of its members while staying true to its core values of accessibility, sustainability, and community empowerment.

We remove barriers to tool access—including cost, space, and knowledge—so that everyone can have the resources, and the knowledge, they need to make and maintain the lives they imagine.

Whether you’re a first-time drill user or a seasoned builder, there’s a place for you at the DTL.

Join us to save money, reduce waste, and build community.

Background Statement

1) ACCESS: Tools are expensive, take up space, and may only get used once or twice per year. By pooling our resources together we create a much greater and more affordable variety of items for everyone.

2) SKILL-BUILDING: Whether it's through classes, resource recommendations, or shared knowledge from staff, peers, and volunteers, every person can learn how to use the tools they need to express themselves and accomplish their projects.

3) COMMUNITY: Our digital age offers unlimited potential for connection but at times leaves us isolated or out of touch with our physical bodies. Community oriented spaces like the DTL connect us directly to people who have similar passions to scheme, learn, tinker, and build, while we experience the satisfaction of working with our hands.

4) SUSTAINABILITY: The process it takes to manufacture the items we buy often leaves a significant negative impact. By building the things we need and repairing them (rather than buying new), and sharing tools instead of duplicating them in every house, we reduce this negative impact on our planet.
