Denver Seminary's mission is to prepare men and women to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel and the life-changing truth of Scripture.
"When I enrolled at Denver Seminary I expected to be formed academically, but what I did not anticipate was the extent to which my MDiv formed me spiritually. My education at Denver Seminary taught me to be a more reflective and thoughtful Christian. It deepened my faith and was used by God to facilitate a deeper love for Him. I am grateful that my seminary experience prepared me to not just be a better preacher and theologian, but also a better disciple of Jesus Christ."
- Brian Gehr, Master of Divinity alumnus
"I am learning how I can further use my gifts of compassion and leadership. My understanding of who God is has grown in reverence. He is a God of justice and grace. Denver Seminary meets students where they are at on their faith journey and gives them the tools to engage and thrive!"
- Kelsey Bocher, Clinical Mental Health Counseling student
"If God created everything out of nothing with a purpose, and if He loves humanity, there must be deeper things I should be able to know about Him. Now, Denver Seminary's apologetics program is driving me to those mysteries and preparing me to engage in the cross-cultural and pluralistic society effectively. I am currently living the most meaningful, purposeful, and peaceful life with tears of joy. Wow! I have no more words to express it."
- Aby Jacob, MDiv student

At Denver Seminary, we strive to educate the whole person, believing that to meaningfully contribute to the mission of God, we must become more Christ-like in every dimension of life. Through our educational programs and mentoring process, the Seminary challenges students to grow spiritually, intellectually, and professionally in order to lead God’s people in the accomplishment of His mission in the world.
Denver Seminary is a community called to prepare men and women to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel and the life-changing truth of Scripture.
Core Commitments
Biblical Authority is our foundation, and the Seminary remains faithful to the inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of the Bible. Biblical Authority, along with our other four commitments—Charitable Orthodoxy, Vigorous Scholarship, Redemptive Relationships, and Global Concern—is woven through the tapestry of the Seminary’s history and central to our identity.
Grounded in Evangelicalism
Denver Seminary has been identified with evangelicalism since our founding, but year over year, the term “evangelicalism” has become more difficult to define. We remain committed to who we are and will continue to clarify and embrace the terms “evangelical” and “evangelicalism” rather than distancing from them.
Vocation, Profession, and Mission
Seminary education in the United States has undergone a striking transformation. Traditionally seminaries existed for one purpose—the training of professional ministers who would serve their denominations and churches in pastoral, missionary, or academic roles. In the past, seminary education was deemed necessary to gain the necessary credentials. A seminary degree is no longer required for these roles by many churches and mission organizations. Because of this, it falls upon us now more than ever to demonstrate why a Seminary education is imperative to a healthy, engaged ministry. Thus, we continue to strengthen core disciplines such as biblical and theological studies, spiritual formation, and apologetics, while addressing and defining vocational pathways and ensuring that the curricula include meaningful vocational counseling.
