Denver has a long legacy of prioritizing parks, but not always in an equitable and sustainable way. Currently, Denver is ranked 13th in the nation for park access — falling short in investment, amenities, and acreage. To add new parks to an increasingly dense city requires creative solutions; that means transforming old parking lots, creating pocket parks, and adding public green space to private developments.

The Denver Park Trust works closely with community leaders, neighborhood associations, and Denver Parks and Recreation to enhance existing parks and add new public green spaces in a thoughtful, equitable, and sustainable way.
